A real areal-dance-music spectacle "Lubejzn je u zraki" is coming up, organized by professional dancer and long-time scale modeller enthusiast Jurij Batagelj and Barbara Žlender, in close collaboration with MD Ventus. The event will take place on 31 August and 1 September 2024 at the idyllic MD Ventus modelling airfield near Vipava. It will be the 1st international two-day meeting of modellers of warbirds, legendary aircraft models from the World War II era, enriched with a variety of activities that will captivate all attendees with the authentic atmosphere of the 1940s era.
The first day will feature free flying sessions of RC models by Slovenian and foreign modellers. In addition, collectors of military vehicles will display their valuable exhibits, and we will offer visitors an authentic musical, dance, and culinary experience to enhance the atmosphere. In the late afternoon, a real 2-hour areal-dance-music spectacle will take place at 6 pm.
The program will alternate between attractive areal program of impressive RC warbirds by renowned flying groups from Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, Austria, and Germany, with dance performances to the rhythms of live swing orchestra music, all enriched with various visual effects.
Collectors of authentic military and civilian vehicles will be on hand to provide an authentic atmosphere for the spectators, who will be able to drive visitors to the venue in vintage vehicles such as Jeep Willys and Dodges.
Participants and visitors will have the opportunity to try out a one-hour swing dance workshop, then enjoy a swing evening with live music, socializing, and dancing. Selected drinks and tasty culinary experience inspired by the spirit of that time. The evening will conclude with a small fireworks display.
The second day will be dedicated to free flying sessions and relaxed socializing of participants with food, drink, and music. The event will offer participants and visitors a range of additional activities, including model-making workshops for children and similar experiences.
